Deep Breathing to Find Peace, Energy, and Time

Candle for Relaxation and Deep Breathing

Deep Breathing helps you access wellsprings of energy and find time!

Deep breathing is a simple and powerful skill. When you cultivate and practice it, you do yourself a huge favor.

Easy and always-accessible, deep breathing is a practice that reduces stress, improves your health in some very clear ways, and offers renewed energy and clarity whenever you implement it. Honestly, it’s THAT helpful and good for you!

Use deep breathing any time and any  place to:

  • Find calm amidst chaos;
  • Connect with yourself and feel invigorated, and ready for your day;
  • Reduce stress no matter what your situation;
  • Wind down and let go at the end of the day;

In each of the examples above, there is a time-finding element.

  • Finding calm amidst chaos means that you’ll be better able to access your creativity, compassion, and problem-solving skills to address whatever is going on AND stop leaking time and energy needlessly.
  • Using deep breathing to wind down at night means that you’re likely to get to sleep more easily and rest more peacefully, meaning you’ll be energized for whatever your new day brings.

Deep Breathing Ideas

Deep breathing is a practice that helps ANY time you do it. Here are a couple of ideas to get you started.

When you wake up in the morning, do some quick deep breathing exercises to feel invigorated and ready to go. You can do this anywhere, and it’s especially nice to go outside if possible. Take a deep breath, and then breathe in through your nose, and out through your mouth several times. This breathing exercise is a quick workout for your abdominal muscles and lungs. It’s a grounding and refreshing start to your day.

When you’re having a rough day at work or dealing with conflict, a few calming breaths will help reduce your stress. Sit back, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Hold it in and then let it out. Repeat the process until you feel relaxed.

Benefits of Deep Breathing

If you just need a quick lift, then you’ll only need to spend a short time here and there doing some deep breathing exercises. On the other hand, if you’re looking to have a significant impact on your health and serenity, create a ritual or routine of pausing to do deep breathing exercises throughout your day.

Whatever the duration, deep breathing exercises bring you many benefits, including:

  • Reducing blood pressure
  • Calming or reducing stress and tension
  • Toning core muscles
  • Aiding in digestion and the elimination of waste and toxins
  • Enhancing energy
  • Increasing groundedness and self-awareness
  • Accessing creativity, problem-solving and other skills more easily/

Your own results will depend on the manner and frequency of your deep-breathing work. But rest assured that this activity benefits virtually anyone.  Breathing is something that we all do – and doing it consciously and deeply takes little effort and pays huge dividends!
