Yesterday I had a wonderful comment from Stephanie Callahan of Callahan Solutions on my post Find Time Every Day to Stop and Smell the … Daffodils! Here it is …

Paula – I could not agree more. We move at an alarming speed these days. Back when I worked in Corp. America on a very large team, I would rarely see the sun because I was in the office early and out quite late. One thing I started doing at that point in my life was setting an alarm on my calendar that said “breathe.” It was my reminder in the early afternoon to get up and do some deep breathing and refocus. It worked quite well.

Since then I have become quite good at smelling the flowers in our neighborhood. One of my favorite things to do is go on short walks with my dog. I listen to nature and take in the sights. It is amazing how much more I get done on days where I take the time to take a time out.

To your success!

Stephanie

I can attest to the fact that taking a time out really does increase your efficiency and productivity!

This has been an especially busy week here at The Time Finder as we’re putting the finishing touches on our Finding Time E-zine (it will go out tomorrow) and are right in the thick of preparing for our next Finding Time EducationRich and HeartBased Interview (7PM ET on May 4th)!  I felt like I was juggling about 16 things yesterday morning and making no headway on any of them!

Then I stopped, spent about 15-minutes doing some deep breathing and meditating, and I was able to come back to my work refreshed, focused, and ready for a very productive afternoon!

The key is to stop; and that can be very challenging when you are feeling rushed, stressed, and maybe even verging on panic!  I suggest using some kind of a timer to start.  Eventually, this will probably become a habit, but initially, a timer or alarm of some sort will help you keep to your plan.

How do you cope when you are stressed? Do you pause, then come back to your work? How do you give yourself your best chance to succeed? We’d love to hear!

What if you could find another hour every day? You can! You are invited to sign up for your FREE Finding Time Success Kit. It puts 3 key tools for your time success right into your hands! Grab it and see how you can recharge your energy, reduce overwhelm and frustration, and come to learn that 24 hours really ARE enough!

Let’s explore time together …
