IFTTT Keeps Adding Channels, and the Productivity Hacks Keep Coming

Signs IFTTT

If This Then That

IFTTT.

It stands for If This Then That.

But what is it?

Have you heard of it?

Do you use it?

Here are the basics:

If This Then That is a productivity tool that allows you to automate all sorts of tasks. It uses basic logic (If This Then That) to link tech tools that work together and increase your efficiency. And when you increase your efficiency, you are also finding more time.

IFTTT Introduces Applets for More Flexibility and for Finding Time and IFTTT: Fast, Flexible, Friendly Recipes for Finding Time! are some posts we’ve shared here previously about this very practical time and productivity tool.

Now, with the growing popularity of Smart Home systems and solutions, the possibilities for If This Then That have grown exponentially. The Applet Collections available in the IFTTT website  now include things like:

  • 18 Applets for small business owners,
  • 15 Applets for the internet of things,
  • 18 Applets for social media,
  • 21 Applets for activism, and
  • 24 Applets for healthy habits.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Not only are there ready-made applets, but you can become a maker if you’re interested. On the site you’ll find templates that you can use as a base for creating your own applets. These, then can be shared with the community.

Here’s a video that gives you a comprehensive overview of some of the things you can do with IFTTT. It’s about 17-minutes long, and is very clear and helpful.

I invite you to take a look at this time tool if you haven’t already.  Search the available services and start imagining the possibilities.
