The way you use your time is the way you live your life.
So, as the winter holidays gear up and move into full swing, I want to share a survival tip that will help you take care of yourself and keep the season as warm and meaningful as you want it to be!
The important thing to remember about self-care, whether it’s during the holidays or throughout the rest of the year, is that self-care isn’t an indulgence; it’s a responsibility! There is nothing frivolous about it. It’s the bedrock on which all of your life’s activities is built.
Think about it: if you were setting out on a car trip, would you drive off with a gas tank that’s nearly empty? Tires that are bald and deflated?
Absolutely not … and I think you can see what I am getting at.
While self-care is vital, the reality is that we are generally short on time; and that’s especially true during the holidays. That’s why I love my 30-second refreshers! They are simple and powerful.
All you need to do is pause. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, stop for 30-seconds, relax your body, clear your mind, and breathe deeply.
Try thinking of something you are grateful for. (Do NOT think about your next task!) The refreshing part of this is stepping away from the hustle and bustle, and re-connecting with yourself in the moment.
Although 30-seconds may not seem like a long time to you, it’s like taking a drink of water when you are thirsty. And think about it: If you have ever watched a young child try to sit still on Christmas morning, or on one of the nights of Hanukkah, you know that 30-seconds can be a loooonnnnggg time!
As you explore using 30-second refreshers, would you like to learn more about how you can expand and deepen your time and efforts … in whatever areas you choose?
