Find Time to Get Moving When You’re Stuck; You Just Need This 1 Time Management Tip

Are you stuck?

It’s a nightmarish feeling. You want to get moving. A deadline looms. The clock is ticking. And you are stuck in a rut.

It seems like the more you try, the more blank your mind becomes, as panic grows and ideas and inspiration dry up.  Maybe you try brainstorming or mind mapping.  Maybe you stop and go outside for a walk to clear your head.  But back at your desk, nothing comes.

This One Tip Helps

Well, I have just one tip for you when you find yourself in a situation like this.  It has worked wonderfully for me. And it often yields creative ideas that help with other projects in addition to the one that had me stymied.

It’s an entirely counter-intuitive tip – and that’s its beauty.

So, try this the next time you are stuck. Generate the absolute worst version of whatever you are working on that you can.  If it’s a sales page, or a blog post, or copy for a press release, approach it with the mindset that you are going to make this your worst ever!

It Quiets Your Inner Critic

What this does, as you may have guessed, is remove your critical inner voice from the stage.  Or, more precisely, it enlists this voice to become a contributor to your project … rather than a nay-sayer from the sidelines.  What does your inner critic think is a really terrible headline for your next e-zine article?  Go ahead, write it down, and go from there.

Before you know it, the ideas will be pouring out. And, as I said, you may be surprised at the new inspirations that come about as a result of this counter-intuitive time management tip!

Give it a try … and I’d love to hear how it goes for you.
