FitNotes helps you track your exercise accomplishments.

FitNotes is a free exercise app for your Android or iPhone. Have you heard of it?

It was suggested to us by a reader in response to our post titled Exercise Apps – Here are Two Top Contenders to Help with Your Workout.

FitNotes has been around for a number of years now, and it’s a simple app for logging your workouts. There are no distracting ads, and you can easily use this app to create custom exercise routines and keep track of how you’re doing.

FitNotes – The Bells and Whistles

FitNotes gives you an exercise database to use as a starting point, and then you can build from there. You get a default selection of categories like arms, chest, legs, etc. Then, within each category, you get a short list of default exercises. These can all be customized, so the possibilities are truly endless.

You can create routines for yourself that give you quick access to your most frequently used exercises. Then you can choose your routine from a dropdown list.

FitNotes Workout Log

The workout Log is the heart and soul of FitNotes. Here’s where you track your progress, note your personal bests, and give yourself an overview of your exercise accomplishments.

You can navigate between your daily workout logs quickly by swiping between them, or go to a specific date using the calendar. There’s a rest timer that you can use between exercises, and you can attach comments and notes to your exercise sets.

In the calendar, the dates in which you’ve recorded exercise activity are highlighted. Tapping one of those dates will show you what you did. And if you want, you can also filter the calendar to highlight dates that you performed a particular exercise – like dates that you went for a run.

FitNotes Export

Another very nice feature of FitNotes is that you can export all of your training logs in CSV format. Then you can load them into a spreadsheet for analyzing and tracking further.
