Google Keep – Take Quick Notes and Find Time

Shopping List

Google Keep puts your lists where you need them!

Google Keep is a list-making and note-taking application that we’ve written about in the past here on The Time Finder.

I wanted to highlight it again here, because Google Keep has added some new features while continuing to maintain its place in the note-taking world.

Where’s that place?

Well, I’d say it’s smack dab between  robust applications like Evernote and pared-down note-taking venues like Simplenote.

So what does Google Keep give you and how does it help you find time?

It’s an accessible, flexible note-taking app that you can access on a wide variety of devices. You can add notes, lists, photos, and audio to Keep AND you can set location or time-based reminders.

So, if you have your shopping list on Google Keep you can add a location-based reminder that has it pop up when you get to that particular store. Use time-based reminders to make sure that nothing falls off your To-Do List!

Google Keep will sync across all of your devices (when on-line). You can also share notes and lists with friends or family members. This is a big time-saver if, say, you and your partner are both doing errands on a weekend. Rather than having to call, text, or e-mail one another, you can see items being checked off of your shared lists … in real time.

Here’s a good, basic video that explains how to use Google Keep:

And here is a more details step-by-step video that walks you through the different features of Google Keep:

When it comes to Finding Time for What Matters Most™ it’s important to find tools that work for you. These may not always be what the pundits highlight as the newest or the best – it’s really about what you’re comfortable with!

Getting comfortable may take some time and practice. So I suggest that, if you’re interested in Google Keep, you try using it for a couple of weeks to see how it fits with your lifestyle and workflow.

That should be enough time to tell you if Google Keep is a keeper for you or not!
