Creating a personal retreat is a profound act of self-care.

Too many of us were raised to equate self-care with self-indulgence. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Many are learning, during this time of COVID, that deep reservoirs of resilience and energy are needed to navigate everyday living.

One of the ways that I replenish myself is with what I call a personal retreat.
Basically, this involves a choice to step out of the rhythm of everyday life and create space for solitude. It needn’t be complicated. Generally, to create my personal retreat, I simply disengage from whatever I am involved in. I relax my body and take a few moments to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with myself.
This retreat is an opportunity to revitalize your energy by authentically tapping into your core and re-connecting with your heart.
A personal retreat can be brief…
In fact, the more you do it, the less time it tends to take. It’s the quality of your attention that is key, and that’s something that you will refine with practice.
Whether I have an hour or 10-minutes to devote to self-care, I always benefit when I take some silent time to authentically connect with myself.
