Journaling with Life Calendar, One Week at a Time

Journaling app for this Cyber Monday!

Journaling is a practice that I often recommend to my coaching clients. It offers itself to a wide variety of purposes. For example, many people use their journals to document life events. And this simple activity becomes a priceless gift when, years later you open an old journal and are transported back to times, people and places from your past.

For other people, journaling provides an important, private space for quiet reflection and exploration.

Many of my clients have kept dream journals through the years. Others have used the space to vent, to write heart-based letters or poetry, and to record and assimilate lessons learned.

Personally, I am a pen and paper person when it comes to my writing – and I’d say that especially applies to my journaling. But for many people, writing apps offer a comfortable venue for this activity. So today I’d like to share one such app — one that I came upon last week.

Journaling App for Android or iOS

Here’s what this journaling app looks like in action.

The app is called Life Calendar and it gives you an on-line space where you can write about your life in weekly chunks. Here’s how the developer– Amr Kafina — describes this journaling tool:

Life Calendar helps you visualize your life by breaking it down to weeks and displaying it in a grid. Each week is symbolized by a little box, and each box can be color coded. A note can be added to each week, and with it you can capture any thoughts, feelings, or reflections you might have during that time.

Stepping back and looking at your week as a whole offers the opportunity for a different kind of reflection about your time and your life. What felt incredibly stressful or anxiety-provoking on Tuesday may have been transformed into a grand accomplishment by Friday. And that’s the sort of thing that you simply can’t see in the moment.

So, Life Calendar appears to be very flexible and user friendly. And there’s both a free and a paid version. If on-line journaling appeals to you, I think this is an app that’s worth checking out. It provides an interesting space for reflection and documentation.

And What about Your Daily Choices?

So, when it comes right down to it, it’s all about how you spend your time. Time is pure potential. You decide how to use it; and once you do, it’s gone.

And that’s why it’s so important to build on your best time choices. If you feel like your time slips through your fingers, here’s something else to consider. It’s my complimentary “Daily Choices Template:  Proven Strategies for Tracking Your Best Time Choices Today, Tomorrow & All Year!
