Stress doesn’t have to get you down!

Stress is a fact of life these days. It can be a debilitating problem for many, taking its toll on our energy, our peace-of-mind, and our health.

Does it sometimes feel like the pressure just never ends?

Well, some stress is unavoidable, but some of it is self-created. And that’s really the good news. If you’re creating stress for yourself, then you can  stop!

So building on that fact about your stress and where come of it comes from, here are 5 ideas for you to consider.

5 Steps to De-Stress Today:

Step #1: Cut it out.

What are some things you can remove from your schedule to give you breathing space? Take an inventory and prioritize your list from least important to most important. Cut out what you can.

Step # 2: De-Clutter

When your home and/or workspace are cluttered you tend to feel cluttered and unorganized on the inside, causing you more stress. Your external environment affects your internal peace and quiet. Removing unnecessary items is like taking a deep breath — ahhhh!

Step #3: Savor what you have with gratitude.

You may have learned somewhere along the way that more is better. Consider an alternative view – that what you have right now is enough. Savor your present moment and all that it contains with gratitude and you’ll find much more peace within yourself.

Step #4: Take care of your physical needs.

Getting regular exercise and eating nourishing food helps reduce stress in lots of ways. Getting a good workout relieves stress. You’ll be able to think and reason more clearly, which will help you deal with some of the core issues that are causing your stress. Likewise, when your body is nourished properly, it functions optimally. You’ll feel better and have more energy for whatever comes your way — thereby reducing stress.

Step #5: Let go of the procrastination habit.

Do you often find yourself spinning your tires? Feeling stuck while the clock in your head sends your stress skyrocketing? Procrastination is one of the top stress-creators going, and if you’re like a lot of people, procrastination is something you grapple with, are frustrated by, and would love to get a better handle on.
