Tap into your fullest energy to become more effective and efficient in whatever you do. And the key is to make time to do this.

It needn’t be a lot of time. But paying attention to your energy needs keeps you in sync with yourself.

So that means developing listening skills. Listen to yourself and your body to hear what you need.

Then you can respond tap into your resources and replenish yourself.

You know what I mean, don’t you?

It’s when you are at your busiest and most stressed that you can most benefit from stepping back and taking a breath. But that’s also when it’s hardest to do that.

Instead, you may well say to yourself, “I’ll just keep going a little longer and get this one more thing done”  Meanwhile, your energy, efficiency, and effectiveness all flag as your stress level rises.

The reality is that it doesn’t need to be that way.  When you feel yourself tiring or losing focus, it is quite possible to tap into your reserves, recharge your batteries and give yourself an energy boost.  The key, however, is in STOPPING and turning inward.

Tap Into Your Listening Skills

What is your flagging energy telling you?  What do you need?

In my experience, you don’t have to spend a great deal of time answering these questions.  In fact, you’ll learn that the more you do this, the more you’ll come to quickly recognize what you need and be able to give it to yourself on the spot.

  • Maybe it’ll be a few moments of stretching.
  • Maybe writing in your journal to release some feelings that are blocking your progress will help.

Whatever it is, follow through on giving yourself what you need and you’ll be able to return to your work with renewed energy and attention.

The added benefit is that as you do this, you build a relationship of deepening trust with yourself.  When you know that you are going to give yourself what you need, no matter what the situation, you’re unstoppable.
