Transform Your Time and Life with New Habits for Health and Success

Transform your time with a new habit!

If you want to transform your time and your life, where do you start?

The answer might really surprise you. Since ‘transform’ is such a big, all-encompassing word, you naturally expect it to involve major changes and upheavals.

But in reality, if you want to transform your time, your life, and yourself, small steps are your key.

In fact, it’s the incremental work of creating new habits or changing old ones that will get you from where you are to where you’d like to be. It’s truly a step-by-step process, and this Cyber Monday I’d like to share an app that my VA just told me about. It looks like a winner.

It’s called HabitBull and it’s billed as a Habit Tracker. It works on Android and iOS devices, and you can access it as either a free or a paid application.

Here’s a brief video that gives an overview of HabitBull:

HabitBull is set up on the premise that, according to research, it takes 66 days to really establish a new habit. (This seems to me a much more realistic timeframe than the 21-day figure that often circulates on the web.)

According to Charles Duhigg, author of “The Power of Habit,” habits are not born, but created. Every bad, good or insignificant habit starts with a psychological pattern called a “habit loop.”

Duhigg reported to NPR, the “habit loop” is a three-part process. The first step is the trigger that tells your brain to let a certain behavior unfold. The second step is the behavior itself, or the routine it creates.

The third step is the reward, or “something that your brain likes that helps it remember the ‘habit loop’ in the future.”

Using the HabitBull app, you set goals for yourself and make note of how many times a week you want to address your goal. You also determine how you want to track your success (i.e. with a Yes/No answer, with numbers, etc.). Then you use the app to keep track of how you’re doing as you work to create a habit and transform an area of your life.

The app offers encouraging words, is able to send you reminders, and overall looks to be a flexible and user-friendly time tool, whether you choose the free or the premium version. We’ll continue to explore it here at The Time Finder, and recommend that you think about checking it out yourself!
