Want More Energy for Autumn? Celebrate YOU as Summer Winds Down

Celebrate YOU!

When you celebrate YOU, you give yourself an energy boost no matter what.

And who doesn’t need an energy boost right about now?

Managing your energy is a key ingredient in caring for yourself.

And as we move toward a new season, with so many unknowns ahead, self-care is even more important to your well-being.

Why Celebrate YOU?

Finding time to love and celebrate yourself is a foundational self-care skill. In fact, it’s the solid and nurturing base from which meaningful self-care springs.

The activities of self-care, in and of themselves, offer benefits. For example, when you exercise, you strengthen muscles no matter what is motivating you.

But step back and think about your exercise regimen for a moment.

What motivates you?

If your commitment is coming from a place of warm self-regard, then your follow-through springs organically from that regard.  Your regimen is authentically connected to self-care and is an integral part of your day.

But it’s also possible that self-criticism pushes you to strive. Then your exercise routine is infected with that negative, goading voice. Rather than being an energizing self-care activity it is a fear-based chore.

Self-care or self-criticism…

You are much more likely to continue your routine when it’s about self-care. But far too often, exercise is an injunction springing from the self-critical voice that we all carry and are sometimes all-too-familiar with.

When exercise is a “should” then rebellion is never too far away.  You may start a routine, but you aren’t likely to maintain it, because it is based in an internal dissonance.

Celebrate YOU to boost your energy.

When you make time to love and celebrate yourself you change everything. It’s similar to what happens when you make time to voice gratitudes.

Your perspective and your time are transformed.  It’s like finding a clear note.  You’ll know, right down to your toes, when you hit it.

And it doesn’t have to take a lot of time.  The key is to be genuine in your self-talk, and to connect with your heart.  At first, you may need to search a bit to find the words that go to your core. But the more you practice and build a repertoire of self-loving expressions, the less time it takes.

Celebrating yourself, valuing yourself, loving yourself – making the choice to do this transforms any moment. Like the attitude of gratitude, it is at once very powerful and very simple.

How will you take time today to celebrate YOU?

How will you overcome the barriers you encounter?
